Trace raises $47M series C, Gem acquired by Blockdaemon, and more in our latest Community Update

Trace, a sports video tech company, recently announced their $47M series C led by Pelion Venture Partners. Trace’s AI-powered software automatically edits and personalizes videos for each player. As reported in Forbes, Trace is being used by 1,000+ soccer clubs and is available to more than 1.4M athletes across the US. Trace will use their new funding to expand their product to more sports verticals, creating new ways to capture personalized sports highlights for every player. Speaking to the Trace product, Pelion GP Jeff Kearl noted, “Customers love it, and they’re using it. We not only have the soccer use case, but it’s exploding in baseball and softball, and we think there’s dozens of other greater use cases in sports as well as lifestyle.”

Gem, the number one aggregator and API for fiat-to-crypto onramps and offramps, was recently acquired by Blockdaemon. Since 2014, we’ve supported Gem and its mission to streamline institutional blockchain infrastructure and propel adoption. This acquisition will make it even easier for businesses to offer in-app crypto products and services to their customers. We’re excited by where the combined platform and resources will take things from here. Blockdaemon CEO Konstantin Richter highlighted the potential, “Gem makes it very easy for people to take funds from anywhere and connect them and put them into another payment or yield earning platform, a little bit like Stripe.”

Fama, leaders in social media screening automation and AI, announced their $10M Series B led by Silverton. Fama utilizes the open social graph to go beyond the resume, helping companies make smarter hiring decisions. “HR professionals need new tools to keep pace with the evolving expectations of their customers and employees, and Fama is uniquely poised to deliver the next generation of talent screening solutions,” said Roger Chen, Partner at Silverton. They plan to use their new funding to expand teams, products, and partnerships.

Clutter, a full-service moving and smart storage company, announced their acquisition of Makespace. Post-merger, they will be operating under the Clutter brand, expanding moving and storage services to over 6,500 cities across the U.S. With this combined footprint, Clutter will now reach over 60% of Americans, making them the largest provider of on-demand storage and moving in the nation.

WeeCare, a managed marketplace helping educators and caregivers start and operate successful home daycares, announced their $12M Series A led by M13. Partner at M13, Anna Barber says, “WeeCare is well-positioned to benefit from two important trends: the recognition on the part of employers that childcare benefits are essential, and the growth of the independent childcare sector.” WeeCare is making it possible for every employer to offer childcare benefits to their working families and support employees at all income levels, and now operates one of the largest childcare networks in the US.

Warp, a middle-mile delivery solution for shippers, announced their $2.4M seed funding round led by Bee Partners. Warp uses an optimized network of cross docks and carriers connected through one tech platform to bring shippers the best rates, transparency, and service quality in the transportation industry. Warp will use its new funding to continue accelerating product growth. Warp, led by Daniel Sokolovsky and Troy Lester, is one of the newest companies to join the Amplify portfolio and has quickly built a foothold in optimizing less-than-truckload shipments for the middle mile.

Ready, Set, Food!, a company making food allergy prevention products for babies, closed their Series A co-led by Johnson & Johnson and Providence Health System. They launched nationally in retail at buybuyBaby, and they have now launched the first-ever organic baby oatmeal including top childhood food allergens. Their new baby oatmeal is now the top-selling new baby food on Amazon!
